Well first of all just read the previous two reviews. I agree with everything said, don't know if I could say more or say it better. What a great time we had at "El Alto Lucero"! The accommodations are first rate and the owners, Ale y Enrique, could not be beat. Generous, informative, and generally lots of fun. They took some of their time to show us around, we'd never been to this part of Mexico before, and introduce to the area in general. A big help and a big time saver. This part of Mexico is truly beautiful. The landscape is pine, oaks and avocado orchards on the hill sides. The towns and sites to see in this part of Mexico are extensive. We plan to stay a month next time. We felt totally comfortable driving around, going to markets and wonderful places to eat. All of the locals we met were just so nice. Quotes

A trip to remember
We rented for four months and fell in love with Copandaro, Lake Zirahuen and Michoacan. The house is very comfortably furnished and the view from the living room, kitchen and patio is absolutely fantastic. Alejandra and Enrique literally will do anything possible to assure your visit is as enjoyable as possible. The location is perfect for day trips throughout Michoacan including; Patzcuaro, Morelia, Uruapan, and numerous villages where a wide variety of outstanding handicrafts are made and indigenous Purepecha people live. The villagers of Copandaro are very friendly, traffic jams are created only by cattle and horses and outstanding hiking opportunities are abundant. We used our kayaks to explore the beautiful lake. Despite the problems several years ago, we traveled throughout Michoacan and never saw or experienced anything that made us feel uncomfortable. It was difficult to leave and we have already scheduled our next visit to El Alto Lucero. Quotes

Exceptional accommodations in beautiful Michoacan
only thing I did not like about our eight day visit to "El Alto Lucero" is that it went by too too fast. The house is very comfortable it has everything a couple or a family of four individuals needs to enjoy the great nature the state of Michoacan has to offer. There were plenty of supplies including dish soap, hand soaps, coffee, salt etc. There were plenty of linens and towels. We felt very safe in the area and the neighbors were all very friendly. The walk around the lake takes about three hours and you may encounter people walking or running along the lake. There are a few shops that offer you something to eat at a very reasonable price. Don't be afraid to try a dish along the road. Although the owners are next door they give you a hundred percent privacy. Even though we had beautiful views of the lake as we drove in, the view was breath taking as we walk through the front door. Quotes

We could not have asked for a more perfect location on Lake Zirahuen right on the lake. We were treated to the most spectacular lightning show across the lake toward the mountains, lighting up the lake as though Greek God Zeuss was conducting the show himself! Our hosts could not have been more caring, considerate and paid attention to every little detail both before and during our stay. We had compared other places to stay at the lake and by far preferred this one. We had the opportunity to check out another place close by that friends of ours were staying in and theirs did not come close to El Alto Lucero. The other place being dirty and beyond rustic, lacked almost every utensil, cookware, or appliance a kitchen would need for even a short stay and their community center was a joke. Needless to say, we were so thrilled with ours that we plan a return trip soon.
